PRESS BRIEF | Adalah demands urgent resumption of studies for 300 students of Naqab Bedouin elementary school

With the opening of the academic year - allegedly due to organizational conflict over the identity of the school's principal - the newly-inaugurated school was closed and its students remained home without any educational framework.

On 21 September 2022, Adalah, on behalf of representatives of the parent committee at the Khashem Zanneh school, sent an urgent letter to Israel’s Ministry of Education demanding the immediate resumption of studies for some 300 students at the elementary school in the village. With the opening of the academic year - and allegedly due to organizational conflict over the identity of the school’s principal - the newly-inaugurated school was closed to its 300 students, who remained home without any educational framework. Adalah demanded that the ministry act immediately to resume studies in the school in order to allow the schoolchildren to exercise their constitutional right to education.
