Post-7 October: A New Wave of Anti-Palestinian Israeli Laws
On 24 November 2025, Adalah – The Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel, published a comprehensive report titled "Post-7 October: A New Wave of Anti-Palestinian Israeli Laws." The report analyzes the legal and constitutional implications of over 30 new laws passed by the Israeli Knesset between 7 October 2023 and 27 July 2025. Adalah's analysis demonstrates how these legislative measures have been used to accelerate the entrenchment of a dual legal system that privileges Jewish Israelis while systematically violating the fundamental rights of Palestinians in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT).
The report identifies key legislative trends, including the expansion of the counter-terrorism framework to suppress freedom of expression, the institutionalization of emergency measures that violate detainees' rights, and the creation of exclusive state benefits for Jewish-Israeli reservists. Adalah concludes that these laws—which include measures to deport families, revoke social welfare benefits, and shutter independent media outlets—violate both Israel’s constitutional principles and its obligations under international law, including the prohibition on racial segregation and apartheid.
